Backup Exec has officially entered its end-of-life phase and many are left scrambling for the best Backup Exec alternative. Cloud Software Group ended sales on March 31, 2026. Full end of life hits on April 30, 2029 – which means you still have time, but not the kind that lets you ignore this till Q4 2028.

Controlling Storage Costs With MSP360 Backup
MSP360 S3 Backup is a powerful Windows program that automate backup and restore processes to Amazon S3 cloud storage.
In the latest release we are introducing an option to estimate cloud storage costs. You can set up cost estimates per the storage account on the account configuration dialog. You can also setup the limit in GB and in $ that when reached will stop the backup. The software will automatically calculate the costs based on the current storage price offered by the storage provider. Currently Amazon S3 charge 0.125/GB per month. The software will also send an alert to the users when the storage is about to reach the limit.

How to Restore Only Newer Files With MSP360 Backup
MSP360 Backup is a powerful Windows program that automates backup and restoration processes to Amazon S3 cloud storage.
Sometimes you may want to restore the newer version of the file on the target computer over the existing (Older) version. This is particularly important in the Sync scenario, where you want to have your target folder look exactly as the source. In the previous version of MSP360 Backup, that would not be possible and you could just force overwrite every file in regardless of the modification date. This would cause a lot of unnecessary restore operations.
In the newer release, we have added the Restore only new files option so that only the files with newer modification date could be restored. This option is available on the Restore Wizard, Destination step. Continue reading
