Customers using CloudBerry Backup for QNAP or CloudBerry Backup for Synology will now have access to a range of cloud storage options, including Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Oracle Cloud, Microsoft Azure and OpenStack Swift, as well as benefit from faster data transfer.
CloudBerry Lab, a leader in cloud-based backup and file management services to small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), has announced expanded capabilities as part of their QNAP and Synology support. Customers using CloudBerry Backup for QNAP or CloudBerry Backup for Synology will now have access to a broader range of cloud storage options (including Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Oracle Cloud, Microsoft Azure and OpenStack Swift) as well as benefit from faster data transfer.
CloudBerry Lab has announced its managed service provider (MSP) partners now can sell CloudBerry Backup for QNAP and CloudBerry Backup for Synology. In addition, the cloud-based backup and file management services company said it has expanded its QNAP and Synology capabilities to provide users with access to "a broader range of cloud storage options" and faster data transfer.
With this integration, all CloudBerry Lab customers can now take full advantage of cloud-based backup, without the annoyances and concerns like high network costs, long transfer times, privacy and security. This is possible with the use of AWS Snowball, a petabyte-scale data transport appliance that securely transfers large amounts of data into and out of AWS.
The company’s latest announcement, however, has to do with one of those providers: Amazon. More specifically, it has to do with Amazon’s appliance for efficient data transfer to Amazon Web Services (AWS), which allows for simple, fast and secure file transfer to their servers: AWS Snowball.
Key features: CloudBerry Backup Integration with AWS Snowball enables companies to quickly, easily and cost-effectively complete their initial data transfers when moving to a cloud-based backup model.
CloudBerry Lab puts a new spin on cloud backup. It provides the tools to secure your Windows systems and business apps, but leaves the choice of storage provider up to you. And there’s plenty of choice: the Cloudberry Enterprise Backup (CEB) software on test currently supports more than 50 providers.
CloudBerry Lab has extended its cloud back-up platform aimed at small to medium businesses (SMBs) with support for Amazon's AWS Snowball, making it easier for customers using AWS as a target to prime the pump with the first backup job.
Backup is not just for the “big” companies – all companies must have a strategy. In a recent survey, 62 percent of small- to mid-sized business (SMB) IT professionals had experienced data loss, with 33 percent of those reporting profit loss as a result.
CloudBerry Lab has developed CloudBerry Drive, a cross cloud storage client that will allow users to map drives to their local systems from online storage accounts. Being able to map drives to all of the storage accounts available is a huge feature set but doing that without having to load a client for each one… perfect.
CloudBerry is a solution which solves client problems and requests. Their main request is automation of backup, without overwrite method and notification that backup finished. Based on that request, CloudBerry was implemented on computers with schedule option, incremental backup and email notification.
While companies like CloudBerry are less focused on rolling out cloud computing and more about helping companies manage the cloud, it demonstrates how important the cloud is and why every business should have access.
CloudBerry Lab provides cloud-based backup and file management services to SMBs. CloudBerry Managed Backup enables MSPs, solution providers or IT services companies to provide cloud backup services to clients using one of more than a dozen public storage clouds, including Amazon S3, Amazon Glacier, Google Cloud Storage and Microsoft Azure.
A good leader knows his or her team better than anyone else — their strong skills and how they can be leveraged, as well as their weaknesses," added Alexander Negrash, director of marketing at cloud backup and storage solutions company CloudBerry Lab. If you want your staff to do their best work, you need to give them the freedom to brainstorm and explore, Negrash said.
Coupal said he likes that CloudBerry Lab is cloud-vendor agnostic and doesn't force customers to use its cloud storage. CloudBerry backup offers several license options for desktop/server, image-based backup, and Microsoft SQL and Exchange backup.
"Continued struggles with Internet bandwidth will lead to a boom in data migration services and devices," said Alexander Negrash, vice president of marketing at CloudBerry Lab. "They offer a faster, cheaper alternative for transferring large amounts of data."
“Amazon has AWS Snowball, a service that ships customers a hardened device on which they can put large amounts of data and which, in turn, is sent back to Amazon who will then transfer the data to the cloud. For large amounts of data, it¹s a faster, cheaper way to transfer. Expect other services from other vendors to launch in 2016.” — Alexander Negrash, VP of marketing at CloudBerry Lab

The year 2016 is nearly upon us, and every IT-department spends the last weeks of December on planning, development and forecasting the maintenance budget. At this stage, it is important to be aware of upcoming changes on the cloud storage market and how they fit existing backup, computing and virtualization needs. At CloudBerry Lab, we constantly monitor new approaches to cloud storage services and predict market changes to improve our software. Here are the major trends and events we expect to shape the cloud and backup industry next year.
CloudBerry Lab said NY-based software product and service provider ITX has been able to reduce costs and increase reliability of its backup as a service (BaaS) offering with CloudBerry. “CloudBerry has brought the reliability of our backup infrastructure to an entirely different level,” said Jonathan Coupal, CTO at ITX.

What impressed me the most, is how simple it is to set up. Even with two-factor authentication set up on a OneDrive account, it still logged in and connected simply. Then, it proceeded to upload everything quickly too.
The Use of Cloud Backup Services Is Increasing. Cloud backup solutions are becoming increasingly important for organizations, a trend that is likely to continue into next year. In fact, a recent CloudBerry Lab survey of 434 U.S.-based IT resellers and managed service providers (MSPs) indicated 79 percent of respondents said they expected to see an uptick in customer demand for cloud backup solutions.
Microsoft Will Release A Cold Storage/Cool Storage Service: Amazon’s success with Glacier and Google’s success with Nearline will force Microsoft Azure (as well as other storage clouds) to offer their own cold storage services, according to Alexander Negrash, VP of marketing at CloudBerry Lab.
CloudBerry Lab's cross-platform cloud backup takes a different approach; it's software that lets you backup anything from a solitary laptop, an enterprise application, or an entire server, while also giving you the freedom to back it up to—more or less—the cloud storage service of your choice.
While searching for a solution to solve my requirement, I came to know about this wonderful tool CloudBerry Drive which can mount various cloud storage solutions as Hard Disk Drive on my windows computers and laptops.
Almost any size of business can take advantage of a hybrid backup solution, from the smallest of start-ups to huge conglomerates. How it’s implemented may differ between them, but both ends of the scale can achieve an efficient, secure, highly available and scalable solution.
“We’ve heard a lot from customers about the need for a purpose-built solution to back up Oracle databases directly to an Oracle Database Backup Cloud,” said CloudBerry Lab CTO Alexey Serkov. “With this release, we’ve delivered a solution that has all the simplicity, value and power that customers have come to expect from CloudBerry.”

CloudBerry Backup 4.5 from Newport Beach, Calif.-based CloudBerry Lab provides small and midsize businesses the ability to restore an image of a physical or virtual Windows server to Amazon EC2 so that they can run the server from the cloud even if the original physical server is destroyed in a disaster.
Using CloudBerry protects you against all risks because the application runs on a separate Service Account. What this means is, if your server is hijacked by Cyptolocker or a similar ransomware, it will be unable to access the CloudBerry data, and therefore the software won’t be able to infect the backups.
CloudBerry Backup has been updated to version 4.5. CloudBerry Backup 4.5 comes with a set of new features and enhancements such as the ability to back up and restore NTFS permissions, perform server restore on Amazon EC2 and clear the Archive Bit attribute of the files during the backup.
According to Derek Schauland a business analyst for Cloudberry Labs, “although many small businesses began outsourcing when the economy took a nosedive in 2008, now that the economy is growing once again, Small businesses are still taking a “do more with less” approach to IT.“
CloudBerry Backup Version 4.5. Key features: CloudBerry Backup 4.5 offers cloud-based DR to restore a Windows server image as an Amazon EC2 instance.
The by far best feature of this software is the ability to interface with a lot of different services, meaning you are not locked-in to one company’s cloud storage based on the software. If you get a better storage deal at another provider, you can easily set that up without having to get new backup software.
We often don’t have the time to make regular backups or we get so entrenched in everyday life, that making backups is the last thing on our mind. CloudBerry Backup definitely has a solution for you.
Many users of popular cloud backup solutions actually have no idea where their backups are being stored, according to cloud backup and file management services provider CloudBerry Lab. Alleviate your customers' BDR concerns by explaining where their data is being stored and providing details about your security measures.
Oracle Cloud Storage Service provides secure, scalable and consistent, object storage solution for storing and accessing data from any environment connected to the Internet.
Although the term cloud computing was first coined in 2006, it would be at least four years later until it made it on most companies’ radar. “Prior to the cloud, off-site backup required sending tapes or disks to a warehouse, which made disaster recovery very time-consuming,” says Alexander Negrash, marketing director at CloudBerry Lab. “Today, cloud is providing organizations with an inexpensive offsite target for backup data and, depending on the type of service one chooses, that data can be accessed quickly, too.”

Businesses handling large server setups have always looked for ways to back up their machines in order to minimize the amount of time taken to launch or their replacement in the event of a system crash. You have probably heard or read about image based backup a lot. You most likely have even used it. But how fresh is your knowledge?
With CloudBerry Managed Backup, Solitex was finally able to add a reliable and cost-efficient cloud backup service to its portfolio. Shifting from onsite storage to the combination of Google Cloud Platform and the CloudBerry solution resulted in an 80% price decrease in data backup for the company, as well as the ability to provide customers with a higher level of service.
The biggest benefit to this is that there is no need to store the image locally in order to use it for recovery. If you have a decent Internet connection you can use the boot media to access the stored backups and recover from them. That is a fantastic feature.
CloudBerry Lab, the backup and management solutions vendor, added CloudBerry Desktop Backup Free as part of its Backup 4.3 release. Also, customers can now use CloudBerry Backup with VMware vCloud Air.
After the original backup, then you will be just backing up files that change if you chose to do it that way. But again with CloudBerry, you have complete control over how you do your backups. That I love.
"Google Nearline arrived just in time for us, as it was introduced right at the moment when we had just begun offering cloud backup services to our customers using CloudBerry Backup for Service Providers," said Krastio Ivanov, co-founder and general manager of Solitex, an MSP and customer of cloud backup provider CloudBerry Lab.
One of the important assets to an organization is data, because it holds valuable information related to the business, such as customers info, products info, financials info and info related to operations performed. This post speaks about one of the best products; CloudBerry Backup that can be used for backing up Microsoft SQL Server databases to cloud storage accounts with almost all backup features offered by SQL Server.
With so many organizations looking at a Google Nearline or Amazon Glacier cold-storage architecture, it’s clear that businesses are looking at new ways to make their data center much more agile. They’re looking for ways to better control the flow of information between their data centers and their cloud providers. But how to choose between these two very interesting services?
Online backup is a modern way to keep digital data secure. Streamlining this technology, the backup and management service provider, CloudBerry Lab introduces an update to its CloudBerry Backup solution.
In part two, we’ll be adding to the field products from Acronis, CloudBerry, eFolder, LogicNow, and NTT. If you’re wondering how we split the products, know that there was no logic behind parts one and two; the segmentation of products was simply the result of printing deadlines for the magazine.

One would think that the price of a cloud-based service would be the deciding factor when managed-service providers (MSPs) choose technologies to power their backup services. After all, price seems to be the primary means by which cloud storage providers—a critical component in any modern backup service—differentiate themselves. But according to a recent survey of MSPs by backup provider CloudBerry Lab, they have other concerns.
Tooling matters – particularly in the new-to-many-customers cloud world. To that end, I’ve been using cloud storage management tools from CloudBerry Lab with several Enterprise customers and made a quick screencast demo of their Storage Explorer Pro (in this case for GCP – Google Cloud Storage and Nearline).
Google is offering a 100 PB credit on the new service for companies that would like to use the Google Cloud Platform for the first time. Google has also expanded the partner ecosystem around Nearline. Now companies like Actifio, CloudBerry Lab, Commvault, Egnyte, EMC, Filepicker, Pixit Media, and Unitrends are on board, Garakanidze wrote.
Moving any amount of data between different providers, though, can quickly get complicated, so Google has now signed up a couple of new partners that will help their customers move to Nearline and/or have integrated Nearline into their services. These include Actifio, Unitrends and Pixit Media, as well as CloudBerry Backup and Filepicker.
“What differentiates us in a crowded market is that we offer customers the ability to choose the storage for their data,” said Alexander Negrash, CloudBerry’s Marketing Director. “We don’t actually resell the storage. We help customers with the technology to back up to cloud storage of their choice.”
Google Cloud Platform Partners: CloudBerry Backup is a cloud backup solution leveraging Google Cloud Storage Nearline. In addition to offering real-time and/or scheduled regular backups, encryption, local disk image, or bare metal restore, CloudBerry employs block level backup for maximum efficiency and provides alerting features to track each backup and restore plan remotely.

CloudBerry Backup includes a free trial, and it’s extremely fast to get up and running. You can custom edit your backup plan, or use the Wizard to create an off-the-peg one. The basic Desktop plan costs $30, going up to $300 for Enterprise. The company also offers a bunch of freeware products.
CloudBerry is a front end application program for use with any number of cloud storage space vendors. Its most robust implementation, though, is with Amazon S3 storage, and that is how I am using it because I need some features only available with Amazon S3. Daily incremental backups take about 9 minutes with CloudBerry and 21 minutes with IDrive.
Resellers count on the availability of reliable, affordable managed cloud backup solutions in order to compete in the ever-expanding marketplace, according to a recent survey conducted by CloudBerry Lab, a vendor of backup and management solutions for public cloud storage services.
At the Cisco Live! 2015 conference this week, Cisco extended that framework to include 35 independent software vendors. The first ISV members participating in the Intercloud ecosystem include ActiveState, Apprenda, Basho, Chef, Citrix, CliQr, Cloud Enabled, CloudBerry Lab, Cloudera and others.
Clever Technology Solutions, based in Anderson, S.C., views the issue a little differently. The company white labels CloudBerry Lab and primarily sells its managed cloud backup services to mom-and-pop shops. "It's not that we're not proud of the vendors we partner with," said Chip Reaves, president of the IT service provider. "We don't hide it -- if somebody asks [who our partner is], we tell them -- but we don't want people to think they're buying CloudBerry from us. They are buying online backup from us, and we happen to use CloudBerry for that.
Cisco added 35 independent software vendors to its Intercloud Marketplace, which is expected to be available in September. Most of the partnerships are centered on developer platforms, big data analytics and the Internet of Things, and partners include Apprenda, Docker, Chef, Citrix, CloudBerry Lab, Cloudera, Cloudify, F5 Networks, Inc., Hortonworks, Informatica, MongoDB, Panzura and others.

CloudBerry Lab, a vendor of backup and management solutions for public cloud storage services, announced the availability of Backup Consistency Check, which allows end-users and resellers to verify that backups will properly recover.
Managed service providers (MSPs) and IT solution resellers agree cloud backup services are essential for maintaining their competitive position and profitability. A new survey found that demand for cloud backup continues to grow and that reliability and cost are the main drivers of cloud solution choices.
I thought I had settled on Office 365 + OneDrive on each of my PC’s but lately sync issues with various office documents have been ticking me off. Then this afternoon I ran across an older email from CloudBerry about their recently released Box program. So I downloaded the free version and gave it a go, back-ending it with some storage from my free MSDN based Azure credits.
With more resellers adopting a managed services model, how can they stand out in a crowd? Managed cloud backup solutions are vital to profitability: 51 percent said they could not compete, or that it would be very difficult for them to compete, without cloud backup solutions in their portfolios.
CloudBerry survey showed that 51 percent of respondents said they could not compete, or that it would be very difficult for them to compete, without cloud backup solutions in their portfolios. Only 29 percent indicated cloud backup accounted for a very small or insignificant percentage of revenues.
Resellers can play a key role in small and midsize businesses' migration to the cloud by helping them select the right backup options to meet their needs.
Reliable and affordable managed cloud backup solutions are critical to the success of small and midsized cloud service providers, according to a recent survey from CloudBerry Lab.
Technology is moving to the cloud, meaning more and more data is generated in the cloud. This data also needs to be backed up. There are vendors on the market today that offer backup for cloud services, but I believe we'll see more of such cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-local backup solutions soon.
What if I told you that you can use Amazon S3’s cloud backend to synchronize files over multiple computers? That’d be awesome, right? As it turns out, you can, thanks to a powerhouse application called CloudBerry Box. It lets you sync files over different PCs by using Amazon S3’s cloud services.
When selecting a cloud offering, partners named reliability as the most important factor. This includes things like reliability of service, security and how easy it is to restore files, CloudBerry Lab said.
Escalating demand for cloud backup has led CloudBerry Lab to survey over 400 IT resellers and MSPs to determine the impact cloud backup solutions have on their businesses.
With the rise of Cloud adoption, loss or unauthorised access to a customer’s data is one of the major fears service providers face, according to CloudBerry Lab marketing director, Alexander Negrash. “The best way to lose your customer is to lose their data. Proper encryption, data access management in combination with a well-build data backup strategy can bring a peace of mind to IT channel in the Cloud,” Negrash said.
"CloudBerry Backup offers a flawless experience due to the well-designed software. It’s remarkably easy to use, with powerful control over features such as encryption, compression, and scheduling of backups. Since Amazon offers geo-redundant storage with a durability of 99.999999999%, you can rest assured your data is safer than just about any backup solution on the market. They even offer solutions for IT or managed service providers (MSPs). Their products support backing up to Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Openstack cloud storage services and are feature-rich solutions."
Why it’s a favorite: "CloudBerry Lab's Managed Backup solution provides a very reliable cloud backup product that required very little initial troubleshooting and allows us to offer the capability for a reasonable price. It’s also easy to use via an online access portal, and we can manage all our clients in one easy console. Other key elements are the flexibility it offers by allowing us to choose where we want our customers’ data to be stored, and the ability to use multiple cloud storage destinations with different clients so we can avoid a single vendor lock-in."
Others prefer the software-only approach (with the option of building their own appliances) from the likes of Altaro, CloudBerry Lab, CommVault, Dell Software, StorageCraft Corp., Symantec, Veeam Software, Vision Solutions Inc. and Zerto.
CloudBerry software puts security at the top of the list. CloudBerry Box is no different, allowing you to sync data between your computers. You might be limited to Windows computers and you will have to bring your own cloud storage account at Amazon S3 for example but CloudBerry Box will help you stay secure and in sync.
Aside from adopting security procedures, there are a few main things that organizations should keep in mind when it comes to backups, according to Alexander Negrash, marketing director at CloudBerry Lab, a company that specializes in helping businesses and resellers set up cloud backup.
If you are using Google services, such as the Nearline or Google Cloud, CloudBerry Explorer is a must have tool because it works much better when working with volumes of data compared to manual upload/download using browser.
The Cloudberry backup solution is easy to use and allows the customer to select from a variety of cloud services (with more coming). I encourage you to give Cloudberry a test run to see how it performs for you.
After using CloudBerry Explorer for a while with complete satisfaction, I decided to give their computer backup program a try. I was happy to find that you have complete control of how the backup works. They give you about three default plans to try so you can see how they work and then you can design your plan to work exactly how you want it to.

Developers or techies who are invested in Amazon’s public cloud will be interested to check out CloudBerry Explorer for Amazon S3, a desktop app that provides a powerful user interface to Amazon S3 accounts to move and manage files across S3 buckets and local storage.
For those who just want to browse their Glacier/S3 storage and occasionally upload or download files, the freeware edition will be sufficient. However, the most noticeable difference to me was that you will only be able to use 2 multiple upload/download threads at a time and it will not allow you to synchronize directories based on md5 hashing.
CloudBerry Lab is now reporting that it’s customer base has doubled over the past year. The company also notes that it’s resellers have experienced quadruple levels of revenue growth when compared to the previous year’s numbers.
Cloudberry Box is meant for users who have files that can’t be trusted to stay in the cloud alone. They could be sensitive financial files, employee files, or confidential documents.Cloudberry Box allows you to access, edit, and update those files from any device, however. The service is probably an alternative to Box and Dropbox.
One advanced technology partner is CloudBerry Lab, a backup and storage management software maker based in Newport Beach, Calif. While it has been an advanced partner for years, the company has grown much closer with Amazon with a storage competency it earned this month and a reboot of the partner program at re:Invent last November.
Alexander Negrash, marketing director at CloudBerry Lab, said CloudBerry Box differs from others currently on the market because it gives users the choice of selecting their preferred cloud provider. Data is moved through direct connections between end-points and the end-users’ cloud storage accounts. The CloudBerry Box software can be deployed in a private cloud with an Amazon S3 or OpenStack compatible interface.
The company’s new CloudBerry Box is a file sync and share product with its eyes on competing against Dropbox and Box. CloudBerry Box has both public and private cloud options – deployed in a private cloud environment with an Amazon S3 or OpenStack-compatible interface.

Alexey Serkov, the CTO of CloudBerry Labs, comments, “Finally, SMBs and the resellers who serve them have an affordable, flexible solution that provides truly secure access to shared files from many locations.CloudBerry provides the technology necessary to coordinate changes between users, while also storing the data securely at the cloud provider of their choosing.”
Box points to competitors including EMC, IBM and Microsoft (Office 365 and OneDrive), Citrix (ShareFile), Dropbox and Google (Google Drive). There are plenty of other rivals both entrenched and new players such as Acronis, Carbonite, Own Cloud and CloudBerry Lab, among numerous others.
The new CloudBerry Box can be run through a customer cloud storage account from any of the major cloud storage vendors, and in a private cloud or hybrid environment. "File sync and sharing is something that businesses would rather keep locally in a private cloud, as this data is usually of a sensitive nature," says Alexander Negrash.
CloudBerry Lab’s Box offers bi-directional synchronization of user encrypted data across remote computers via cloud storage accounts.
Buckets can be created in the Glacier console, but they cannot be accessed there, nor can they be accessed in this case from the S3 console. However, files can be moved between Glacier and your computer, using Cloudberry Explorer.
Cloudberry Labs allow users to deploy their own managed S3 account, and deploy client side encryption insuring that their responsibilities are met before the data leaves their premises.
New features in CloudBerry Backup include the ability to analyze source files and back up only new block-level changes. It also added block-level backup for bare metal restore (BMR) and System State backups.
Cloudberry Explorer is a powerful and popular interface for Amazon S3, Glacier, and Cloudfront. Transfer between S3 buckets in different accounts is easy, as is transfer between S3 and Glacier.
CloudBerry Lab was established in the 2008. It excels in providing their customers with efficient and innovative cloud computing solutions.
"Bare metal restore coupled with block level backup significantly improves the performance of the overall backup process," Alexander Negrash, marketing director at CloudBerry Lab, told eWEEK.
Latest version of CloudBerry Backup offers Block-Level Backup across all cloud storage providers; makes file system, bare metal and system state backup faster and more cost effective.
Alexander Negrash said, "In our case, we are actually an AWS Partner Network Storage Competency Partner. That means that we are engaged in a three-tiered program [comprising] AWS Partners who graduate through the tiers based on their level of engagement with AWS. As a beginning point, we've demonstrated success in helping customers evaluate and use the techniques and technologies of effectively storing data in the AWS Cloud.
"Integration with PSA systems was one of the top customer requests," a CloudBerry spokesperson told Talkin' Cloud.
Alexey Serkov, CTO at CloudBerry Lab is quoted as saying, "ConnectWise customers can now complement their current IT services and solution offerings with an efficient, cloud-based, fully managed backup offering".
Despite most IT pros having lost data in their careers, a significant percentage still don't prioritize backing up and testing that data. That's according to a study by CloudBerry Lab, an online backup and management vendor.
A survey conducted by CloudBerry Lab at AWS re:Invent summit in Las Vegas has found that 88% of IT pros surveyed admit that they have lost data due to a hardware failure, data corruption, malware, or accidental deletion.
According to a new survey published by the CloudBerry Lab, half of respondents don't back up data because they forgot to do it.
Survey respondents say half the data in the universe will live in the cloud in five years.
CloudBerry is growing and the immediate future of a good product seems secure.
The new CloudBerry Backup solution compresses and encrypts data using customer keys before transferring that data to the cloud.
