{"id":5129,"date":"2014-08-18T20:59:08","date_gmt":"2014-08-18T16:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.msp360.com\/blog\/?p=5129"},"modified":"2024-08-06T12:29:04","modified_gmt":"2024-08-06T08:29:04","slug":"explorer-for-google-storage-authenticate-google-drive-with-service-account","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.msp360.com\/resources\/blog\/explorer-for-google-storage-authenticate-google-drive-with-service-account\/","title":{"rendered":"Authenticate Google Drive with Service Account in MSP360 Explorer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As always we are trying to stay on top of the new functionality offered by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/drive\/web\/\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Google Drive<\/a> team\u00a0to offer the most compelling Google Drive client on Windows platform.<\/p>\n<p>With the newer release of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msp360.com\/explorer\/google-cloud.aspx\">MSP360 Explorer for Google Storage<\/a>,\u00a0we are adding an authentication to Google Drive with your Google service account (OAuth 2.0) which is the new recommended Google authentication and authorization scheme. OAuth 2.0 is an industry standard that Google has adopted across their products, offering many benefits.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Configuring MSP360 Explorer for OAuth 2.0 (Service Account)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #404040;\">Go to File | <b>Google Drive<\/b> accounts in the program menu. Click Add and select <b>OAuth 2.0 (Service Account)<\/b> for Authentication:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5130\" src=\"https:\/\/www.msp360.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/1.png\" alt=\"CloudBerry Explorer for Google Drive\" width=\"365\" height=\"406\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.msp360.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/1.png 365w, https:\/\/www.msp360.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/1-269x300.png 269w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 365px) 100vw, 365px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You need to specify Service Account email and browse for the private key assigned to your Service Account. To get these data to go to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/apis\/console#:storage\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">API Console<\/a>\u00a0and click\u00a0API Access\u00a0link on the left. Make sure OAuth 2.0 is on. You might need to enable it on the same page.
