Some of our users wonder how to copy backup plans. There are a few ways to copy a backup plan<\/a> of MSP360 Backup. In this post, we describe each of these ways!<\/p>\n

Copying Backup Plans Using Clone Backup Plan Feature<\/h2>\n

Launch MSP360 Backup and go to Backup Plans.\"backup_plans_new\"<\/p>\n

Expand the backup plan you want to copy and click on the Clone plan link.\"clone_plan_button\"<\/p>\n

Type a name for the new plan and click OK. \"clon_pan.dialog.3\"<\/p>\n

You will see a new copy of the backup plan in the list of registered backup plans.<\/p>\n

Restoring Backup Plan Configuration From Cloud Storage<\/h2>\n

MSP360 Backup has a \u201cSave backup plan configuration to backup storage\" option in the Backup Wizard. This option allows saving backup plan details to the backup storage during the backup. Once saved, a backup plan can be restored and used in the future.<\/p>\n

Run MSP360 Backup.<\/p>\n

Start Backup Wizard.<\/p>\n

Go to the \u201cPlan Name\u201d step.<\/p>\n

Check the \u201cSave backup plan configuration to the backup storage\u201d box.\"backup_plan_example\"<\/p>\n

Finish creating a backup plan as usual.<\/p>\n

Once finished with creating a backup plan, go to \u201cBackup Storage\u201d Tab and Click on the \u201cBackup Plans\u201d node.\"backup_plans\"<\/p>\n

You will see the list of your saved backup plans in the right part of the screen.\"\"<\/p>\n

Right-click on the plan and click \u201cRestore\u201d.\"\"<\/p>\n

Select whether to restore only a selected backup plan or a backup plan with common console settings. Click \u201cRestore\u201d.\"select_restore_type\"<\/p>\n

When the backup plan is restored, click \u201cOK\u201d.\"backup_plan_successfull_restore\"<\/p>\n

Copying Backup Plans Using Export \/ Import Configuration Feature<\/h3>\n

You can use MSP360 Backup Export Configuration and Import Configuration features to copy backup plans. It is a good way to move backup plans from MSP360 Backup on one computer to another. To do this you have to take a few steps listed below:<\/p>\n

Run MSP360 Backup.<\/p>\n

Open the File\u00a0menu in the upper-left corner and click on the Export Configuration.\"export_conviguration\"<\/p>\n

Select a backup plan you want to copy from the list, choose the export destination and click Export to.\"Export_Configuration\"<\/p>\n

When the export is finished, click \u201cOK\u201d.\"\"<\/p>\n

To import a backup plan run MSP360 Backup. Open the \u201cFile\u201d menu and click on the \u201cImport Configuration\u201d.

Choose a file with your backup plan and click \u201cImport\u201d.\"\"<\/p>\n

Your backup plan will be imported and you shall be able to see it on the \u201cBackup Plans\u201d tab.<\/p>\n

Manual Copying of Backup Plans<\/h2>\n

You can copy backup plans manually as well if it is an option for you.<\/p>\n

Go to the MSP360 Backup application data folder.<\/p>\n

For Desktop Edition: C:\\Users\\UserName\\AppData\\Local\\MSP360 Online Backup\\ or C:\\ProgramData\\MSP360 Online Backup\\<\/p>\n

For Server Edition: C:\\Users\\UserName\\AppData\\Local\\MSP360 Backup Server Edition\\ or C:\\ProgramData\\MSP360 Backup Server Edition\\<\/p>\n

For Enterprise Edition: C:\\Users\\UserName\\AppData\\Local\\MSP360 Backup Enterprise Edition\\ or C:\\ProgramData\\MSP360 Backup Enterprise Edition\\<\/p>\n

For SQL Edition: C:\\Users\\UserName\\AppData\\Local\\MSP360 Backup for MS SQL Server\\ or C:\\ProgramData\\MSP360 Backup for MS SQL Server\\<\/p>\n

For Exchange Edition: C:\\Users\\UserName\\AppData\\Local\\MSP360 Backup for MS Exchange Server\\ or C:\\ProgramData\\MSP360 Backup for MS Exchange Server\\<\/p>\n

For Bare Metal Edition: C:\\Users\\UserName\\AppData\\Local\\MSP360 Backup Bare Metal Edition or C:\\ProgramData\\MSP360 Backup Bare Metal Edition\\<\/p>\n

Note: Please, replace \u201cUserName\u201d with your actual username.<\/p>\n

Select all the *.cbb files and copy them.\"\"<\/p>\n

To add previously copied backup plans to MSP360 Backup on another computer just paste them into the application data folder on the computer you plan to run a backup on.<\/p>\n
