MSP360 Backup for macOS & Linux receives another major update that brings enhanced scheduling, retention policy as well as the ability to backup and restore plans.<\/p>\n

Backup and Restore of Plans<\/h2>\n

One of the major new features of MSP360 Backup 2.5 for macOS & Linux is the ability to backup and restore backup plans. Suppose you were struck by ransomware and had to reconfigure all of your apps from scratch, including MSP360 Backup along with all its backup plans. That would take ages and require a lot of effort. Not anymore! Starting from release 2.5, you can save backup plans to the backup storage along with the data you'd like to back up.<\/p>\n

Backup plans can be restored by going to the Backup Storage<\/em> view, right-clicking on the plan's name and clicking Restore<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Enhanced Retention Policy<\/h2>\n

Release 2.5 also brings expanded retention policy settings. Namely, you can now delete versions older than a specified number of days as measured against the initial backup date of your files. If this option is set to 30 days, every backup execution will remove all previous backups older than 30 days from this execution.<\/p>\n

Enhanced Scheduling<\/h2>\n

Scheduling settings have been augmented by two new options:<\/p>\n

  • Execute the plan after computer start-up if it failed to execute on s\u0441hedule;<\/li>\n
  • Terminate the plan if it executes longer than the specified period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Expanded Logging Settings<\/h2>\n

    Logging settings have been expanded and now feature the following parameters:<\/p>\n

    • Mode<\/strong>. This parameter indicates the density of information to be logged.<\/li>\n
    • Rotation<\/strong>. This parameter Indicates how often the logs should be erased.<\/li>\n
    • Location<\/strong>. This parameter indicated the location of the logs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
